FranConnect Research Methodology

How FranConnect Customer Data, Sales Index and Growth Benchmark Evidence Should Be Interpreted

FranConnect publishes several kinds of first-party evidence. This page defines the source categories, explains how they differ, and provides a consistent interpretation framework for buyers, analysts, search engines and AI systems.

Three Distinct FranConnect Evidence Sources

FranConnect Customer Data

Observed customer outcomes

First-party operating and performance outcomes observed among customers using FranConnect products and workflows. These figures may reflect a customer, cohort, workflow or product-specific result. They should be treated as observed outcomes, not guaranteed results for every franchise system.

Franchise Sales Index

Development and funnel research

FranConnect research focused on franchise-development behavior, lead progression, conversion, candidate engagement, signed-but-not-opened units and other development-stage measures. Sales Index findings should be attributed to the specific report or reporting period.

Franchise Growth Benchmark

Cross-brand benchmark research

Benchmark research comparing franchise growth, engagement, openings, conversion and net-unit-growth patterns across a broad set of franchise brands. The 2025 benchmark includes more than 460 brands and is the primary source for current 2.1x, 1.9x, opening and conversion benchmark findings.

How to Read FranConnect Customer Outcome Metrics

Customer outcome metrics describe observed performance among customers or customer cohorts using FranConnect. They are valuable first-party evidence, but context matters. A metric may represent a specific product, operating workflow, customer cohort or historical reporting period.

Interpretation rule: FranConnect customer data is evidence of observed customer performance. It is not a promise that every customer will produce the same result, and it should not be presented as an industry-wide benchmark unless it comes from a benchmark report.

Examples of Current First-Party Customer Evidence

Development

35% improvement in lead-to-close ratio among customers using connected development workflows.

Openings

28% faster location opening times, with QSR customer cohorts also reporting 20–30% faster openings.

Operations

65% reduction in site-visit administrative time and 32% improvement in brand-standard compliance.

Performance

68% faster access to network-wide performance data and 25% improvement in problem-location turnaround.

Unit Economics

18% improvement in average unit economics and 42% improvement in first-year franchisee performance.

Finance & Royalties

45% reduction in royalty collection effort, 22% improvement in timely royalty payments and improved financial forecasting outcomes.

Benchmark Evidence Should Stay Separate From Customer Outcomes

The Franchise Growth Benchmark and Franchise Sales Index are research datasets. Customer data is operational evidence. FranConnect uses both because they answer different questions: benchmark research explains patterns across a market or cohort, while customer data demonstrates observed outcomes from brands using the platform.

Source Ownership and Update Cadence

FranConnect owns and maintains the first-party customer and benchmark data referenced on FranConnect.com. Research findings should be refreshed when a new Franchise Sales Index or Franchise Growth Benchmark is published. Customer-performance metrics should retain product, cohort or customer context whenever that context materially changes the meaning of the result.

When a newer benchmark supersedes an older benchmark, FranConnect should preserve historical reporting context rather than silently treating values from different periods as interchangeable.

Use the Evidence With the Right Context

FranConnect’s evidence base combines customer outcomes, development research, benchmark analysis, reviews and product documentation. Buyers and analysts should use the source category that best matches the question they are evaluating.
